4 Paths of Yoga
To lead you to liberation
The major difference between Hatha yoga and Ashtanga yoga is that Hatha yoga believes in mastering the body and mind will follow whereas ashtanga believes that master the mind and the body will follow. Ultimately goal of both principles in the same that is to reach samadhi.
There are four paths of yoga that can lead you to liberation and they are as follows:
- Bhakti Yoga: The path of love/devotion
- Jnana Yoga: The path of knowledge
- Karma Yoga: The path of dedicated work/duty
- Raja Yoga: The path of mastering the mind through meditation
Raja yoga has eight limbs and is also called Ashtanga yoga
(“Ashta” meaning eight and “anga” meaning parts or limbs)
✔ Niyama (Observances)
✔ Asana (Physical postures)
✔ Pranayama (Breathing practices)
✔ Pratyahara (Withdrawal of senses)
✔ Dharana (Focused concentration)
✔ Dhyana (Meditation)
✔ Samadi (Enlightenment/ Absorption)
Out of the above eight parts, only Asana(physical postures),Pranayama(breathing techniques) and Dhyana(meditation) is commonly practiced in a yoga class.
The physical poses have been segmented and categorized forming the many types of yoga we know of today.

YogaHolistica
YogaHolistica is the brainchild of Shalini, a passionate yoga instructor and a student of yoga therapy.

I began practicing yoga at a young age and joined my mother regularly to her yoga classes. I took up yoga more seriously and as a regular practice in 2015 when I hit an all time low in my life. Yoga helped me come out of my health issues and cope with mental distress. I keep seeing the mounting stress levels in the general population and felt the need to act, to be a a part of the solution, to be the change. My positive experience with yoga pushed me to get certified as an instructor and teach it to others so everyone can experience the transformation I did. Thus YogaHolistica was born.
I hold a Masters degree in IT and is currently pursuing Masters in Yoga Therapy. Having worked in the corporate world and faced high stress levels and a multitude of health issues resulting from stress, I understand and relate to the woes of the my clients involved in the corporate world.
Yoga is a holistic approach to a person as a whole and every individual is different. There is no standard set of practices. Customized practices are written separately for each client for every session according to the individual’s capacity.
“My vision is that yoga reaches everyone and that everyone should be able to experience the mental, physical and spiritual benefits of yoga.”
“Sarveshaam Shubhamastu – May good happen to you!”
